Growing up is really really really hard.
All that we call human history—money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution,...

To all my Tumblr followers...
I NEED YOUR HELP! I am trying to raise money to allow me to spend my summer in Porirua, New Zealand working with the church for 10 weeks. While there I will help to conduct Bible studies, work with the youth, and live out the daily life of an oversees missionary, which is something I am passionate about doing with my life. I need to raise $4,500 dollars to cover my airplane tickets and daily...
I really really like this quote
“When you read a book as a child, it becomes a part of your identity in a way that no other reading in your whole life does.”
- Kathleen, You’ve Got Mail
I fully believe this. My children will be reading the Bible first and foremost. But also fairy tales, so they have a solid foundation and a great imagination :)
Thanks, Skripture-Sketches (James) for the quote :)
T-minus 34 minutes until I’m 22!
I think it’s going to be my most accomplishing year. Between interning in New Zealand for the summer and graduating from college, finding a real job, and moving out on my own. Tons and tons of change.
Bring it on.

This whole thing makes no football sense, of course. Most NFL players hardly talk to teammatesbefore a game, much less visit with the sick and dying. Isn’t that a huge distraction? “Just the opposite,” Tebow says. “It’s by far the best thing I do to get myself ready. Here you are, about to play…

I’m going to volunteer tomorrow for Extreme Makeover Home Edition and I couldn’t be more excited!! I’ve watched this show for years and always wanted to be a part of helping a family!
My Semester To-Do List

6. Get an apartment ready for when I come back.
7. GRADUATE.
This is all doable, right?

- turned 21
- Went to Rainbow Omega and found a love for mentally disabled adults. I had an incredible time growing closer to a group of Phi Kappians and getting a better appreciation for those less fortunate.
- Was in my last Makin’ Music show. It was the funnest year I’ve ever had in Makin’...

Santa Claus
I don’t think I’m going to have my children believe in Santa Claus.
I would rather get all the credit for the presents they get…and help them to realize that nothing magically appears because we ask for it.
And it will make it a lot easier to focus on giving to others and family time and making that number one, instead of Santa rituals.
And I feel like it’s straight up...
10 things I did this year
1. Went to New Zealand and fell in love with it.

I honestly wonder what it feels like to feel beautiful. To have others consider me beautiful.
Why Connor Grennan is one of my heroes
I found this article that he wrote:
While giving a speech to a prep school in New York, I was asked an awesome question by a high school senior looking to volunteer in an orphanage. He was concerned about the application question that asked the student to describe their motivation for volunteering.
Now, bear in mind that I had just gotten done telling this group that I, myself, only volunteered...

I have heard numerous people remark that if it were possible to go back in time, they would change something about their past because they had information now that would help them make a wiser decision. I’m sure at some point we’ve all thought something along those lines. One such situation that I…

A Letter To My Future Wife
lostinamerica:
Is it okay if I don’t buy you diamonds? I don’t want every kiss to begin with Kay. Aside from a wedding ring, I don’t think the appeal of diamonds lasts forever. I think memories last forever. Instead, how about about we go on amazing trips. Trips where jewelry isn’t necessary. Trips that take us to exotic places in far away countries, where our days can begin waking up on a...

Proverbs 30:7-9
I need to start praying this:
7Two things I ask of you; deny them not to me before I die: 8Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, 9lest I be full and deny you and say, ”Who is the LORD?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.
Things on my mind...
1. I’m glad I don’t care anything about football…the last thing I need is something else to think about.
2. Breaking Dawn was actually decent. I was impressed.
3. I’m thankful for the friends I have.
4. I’m frustrated with social rules. If there is a guy that I would like to get to know better and be friends with, why do I automatically have to want to date him...
